How much smaller a PDF gets
The saving depends entirely on the file. Text-heavy and exported documents often carry a lot of redundant structure and shrink noticeably; a PDF that is mostly scanned photographs is already dominated by image data, so the reduction can be small.
This tool does not re-encode or downsample the images inside a PDF, which is why text stays crisp and selectable. If a scan-based file is still too big, splitting out only the pages you need is usually more effective.
Meeting an upload limit
